Status Update

Greetings phanners,

I've noticed a few requests trickling in and wanted to give you the skinny on why I've been MIA and why I may continue to be for the foreseeable future.

After an extremely busy summer, I recently (thank you Massachusetts tax holiday) made the switch over to an iMac after being a lifelong PC user.  I'm loving it!  However one downside (for now, at least) is that the software program I've been using for my remasters is not Mac compatible and I've so far been unable to find a similar alternative.  I could always hook up my old PC or even my laptop and use the same program, but that requires enough extra steps that I'm unlikely to want to do it on a regular basis.

The main issue going forward is that I am about to start a new job.  It's a pretty big promotion and I am very excited about it.  The bitter side of that pill is that I will likely have little to no down time.  I've had a ton of down time at my current job, which has allowed me to work on the blog and the nitty-gritty of organizing and tagging the files after working at them from home.  That will most likely be a thing of the past come October 4.  Also, I have had Tuesdays off at my current job...my new job will be five days a week.

I'm not totally discounting the possibility that I will get around to doing a remaster or two in the coming months, but I wouldn't hold my breath.  One more thing I should mention is that I'm going to let my MegaUpload account go from a paid "premium" account to a free account since I've been paying for this for almost a year.  This means that any files that are not downloaded for a 90-day period will go inactive.  If that happens with a show you want to download, just send me an email at phishauds@gmail.com and I will re-up the folder and revise the link.

I hope you are all well and who knows, maybe I'll see you on tour next month!  I'll be doing Providence, UMass night 1, Manchester, and AC 30th and 31st.

Cheers!

P.S. one possibility I was thinking of would be for you to email your requests to me and tell me your format of choice, and perhaps what you don't like about the original source you have (and which source you have, in case there are more than one).  I might be more likely to do a quick remaster if I don't need to come up with a blog post or doing all the conversions, tagging, and uploading that multiple versions require.  I would just email the link back to you, and you could share as you please.  Just a thought.
